Accessibility
This page outlines our commitments to digital accessibility and defines the level of compliance of this website with current regulations and standards.
What is digital accessibility?
Digital accessibility is a set of standards and best practices covering functional, graphic, technical and editorial aspects.
Digital media (websites, mobile applications, PDF files, etc.) must adhere to particular standards and best practices in order to be accessible by people with disabilities.
For example, an accessible website allows users to:
- Customize its display via the operating system and/or browser (enlarge or shrink characters, change typography, modify colors, turn off animations, etc.).
- Browse using assistive technologies such as text-to-speech or Braille.
- Navigate without having to use a mouse, just a keyboard, switches or a touchscreen.
- Watch videos and audio content with subtitles and/or transcriptions.
- And more.
Digital accessibility commitments
TotalEnergies is committed to ensuring that its websites (internet, intranet, and extranet), mobile applications, software packages, and digital street furniture are accessible in accordance with Article 47 of Law No. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005, and European requirements.
To achieve this, it implements the following strategy and actions:
- Multi-year accessibility plan

Accessibility of this website
This site was developed using the TotalEnergies website factory, which enables the creation of multiple sites based on a shared structure and common components.
To ensure the best possible results, accessibility was integrated throughout the development process by teams responsible for functional and graphic design, as well as development.
Additionally, contributors to sites created with this website factory have received training on content accessibility. This is complemented by built-in input assistance within the back office and guidelines provided by the Webroom teams.
Compliance status
This site has been designed to comply as closely as possible with the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), particularly in terms of design and development.
For information purposes, there are still a few areas for improvement:
- Google Recaptcha iframes are titled "Recaptcha," which lacks specificity regarding their function and scope.
- The contrast between certain interface components or graphical elements containing information and the background color is insufficient.
- Some links are not explicit.
- Certain scripts are not compatible with assistive technologies.
- Some page titles are not relevant.
- Some language changes are not indicated.
- Some style sheets are not used to control the presentation.
- The focus indicator on interactive elements is not visible.
- Some hidden content should not be ignored by assistive technologies.
- Some content cannot be displayed without horizontal scrolling in a 320px-wide window.
- Additional content appearing when focusing or hovering over an interface component cannot be controlled.
- The purpose of certain input fields cannot be deduced, preventing automatic user data filling.
- Content grouping areas across multiple pages (header, main navigation, main content, footer, and search engine) cannot be accessed or skipped.
- The tab order is inconsistent.
As far as website content is concerned, a program of support and training for teams has been deployed to help ensure that accessibility is taken into account.
